Paragliding in Bir Billing become quite famous since the Paragliding World Cup 2015 India was held for the very first time in India in 23 Oct. 2015. Bir Billing is the first paragliding site in India where the Paraglding championship held. This place is the most suitable site for paragliding in India. Although there are many other places in India where paragliding occurs, but Bir Billing enjoys the top position due to its geographical location and its weather climate conditions. The thermal effect of the climate can help the fly high as high up to 5000 M from the sea level. Bir and Billing are the two different places and the parts of the Greater Bir Area. Bir is a village of the Baijnath Sub Division of Distt Kangra and is 14 KM away from Baijnath main city. The Billing is situated on the top of hill, 14 KM further away fro Bir village. In 1984 Billing first came into the news when an international Hang Gliding rally was organized here. There is a road from Bir to Billing and you can reach there via Jeep, Car or any other small automobile. Every year the paragliding competition held here in the month of Oct and many local and foreigner pilots come here to test their flying skills. This place is also become famous for tourism also.
